The Newark technical high school’s new building is labeled a Technology Enhanced Accelerated Learning Center (TEAL) as its reward program for committed students and also as a showcase entry feature. The high tech space is designed as a working lab where adaptability and flexibility become the program work zones that range from collaboration areas to independent self-directed study cubes to a ‘think tank’ stadium type seating organization. All are established and transformed by furniture and objects in an open space. Opening its wall up to the morning sun and keeping a window on the world, the design an identifiable brand now for the school and the downtown neighborhood.
