Comito Associates has been selected to initiate the first stages of preservation and restoration for the Kips Castle building and Kips Castle Park grounds for the Essex County Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs. The complex involves the main castle building, a Carriage house and over 10 acres of parkland with commanding views of the New York City skyline. The long-term project involves initial protection and accessibility measures with a layered and phased implementation plan for its ultimate completion. Aside from its immediate physical needs, the project involves the consideration of alternative uses.
