The Essex County Courts Complex is a significant public judicial complex whose physical composition has changed substantially over an approximate six year span through the firm’s vision and dedication. Historic restoration, adaptive re-use, urban planning, parks, plazas, gardens and state of the art new construction of many buildings and structures make this campus the firm’s tour-de force. With the vacation of a city street, demolition of an antiquated parking deck, and re-location of a county jail program a new complex was constructed around the core essential structures. The firm has inserted a new 1,000 car parking structure and a new main complex lobby with soaring curved poured-in-place concrete panels and 40’ tall glass expanse opening to the plazas beyond. In addition to extensive interior renovations providing new jury assembly areas, administration offices and prosecutor’s offices, the firm has provided new grand and petit jury court rooms, judge’s quarters and conference centers.
